PowerLight Technologies

New Tech Recharges Drones Wirelessly In Flight Day And Night

About this Event

PowerLight Technologies has developed an optical power beaming system that can send electricity more than a mile without wires.

One of the first uses for this remarkable technology is keeping autonomous drones in flight longer by beaming power to them from the ground. PowerLight has been working with the Department of Defense to power surveillance and communications drones. The military drone market is valued at $16B in 2024 and projected to reach $47B by 2032.

Through the beam, power can be distributed safely night and day, in any weather, over distances and at altitude – extending mission time or on-station time, from near and far. The innovative beam-shaping design minimizes losses across the transfer and maximizes output at the other end. PowerLight has completed years of critical R&D, testing, demonstration, and 3rd-party validations largely using non-dilutive government funding.

In addition to DOD, PowerLight is working with commercial industry partners to deploy wireless and fiber-optic laser power solutions in support of the demands of new technology, particularly those driven by the expanding communication networks and autonomous assets.

Register now to watch our exclusive investor webinar with PowerLight President and COO, Bob Zak to hear how their revolutionary optical energy delivery system is transforming the way we deliver power to everything from drones and smart grids to space exploration.
