Dryad Networks

New Technology Detects Wildfires Before They Start

About this Event

As the recent wildfires in Los Angeles demonstrate, once a fire is visible to spotters, remote cameras, and satellite images, it’s too late to contain them. If fires are detected while they are smoldering, however, there’s a chance to quickly bring them under control before they burst into flames.

Dryad Networks has developed Silvanet, a forest fire early warning system that gives fire fighters a chance to extinguish a fire before it spreads. Silvanet employs solar-powered sensors with embedded AI deliver ultra-early wildfire detection by analyzing gases and environmental conditions. The sensors are networked, which enables 24/7 communication with a user-friendly Cloud Platform for optimal deployment planning, multi-site management, and risk assessment. This system can detect wildfires within 10 minutes of ignition, increasing the chance of extinguishing fires before they spread out of control.

Silvanet has already been deployed in 91 sites in the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe and Asia. Their current pipeline represents leading customers from utility, municipalities, government, paper & forestry. Dryad is also preparing to test autonomous fire suppression drones using a $4M grant which will not only attempt to extinguish the fire but also provide live optical and infrared images to first responders.

Register today to watch our exclusive webinar with Dryad CFO, Dr. Stephan Beyer, to learn how their patented technologies reduce both the financial and environmental damages of wildfires.
